This policy explains how Lion’s Roar International, Inc. (“Lion’s Roar”, “we”) collects, uses and protects information when you use lionsroarinternational.com, apply for affiliation, pay dues, submit a yearly financial statement or verify an organization.
Information we collect
Account information: the name, email address, phone number and preferred language of the person who represents the organization, and a password stored only in protected, non-readable form.
Application information: the answers given in the application, including details about the organization, its leadership, its faith and its operations; the contact details of its references; the documents uploaded, such as the articles of incorporation, the bylaws and the IRS EIN letter; and the electronic signature, with the date, time and IP address of the signature.
Organization and payment information: the organization’s legal name, member number, FEIN, mailing address, dues and payment history, yearly financial statements and the letters we issue. Card and bank details are entered on the secure checkout page of our payment processor, Stripe, and never reach our servers.
Messages sent through the contact form, and the technical information needed to run and protect the site, such as the IP address of a request (used to keep sessions secure and to limit abuse of our forms) and the essential cookies that keep you signed in.
How we use it
We use this information to review applications and contact references, to accept organizations as subordinate members under IRS Group Exemption Number 8203, to issue acceptance letters and Letters of Good Standing, to process dues and send receipts and reminders, to review yearly financial statements, to answer messages, to protect the site against fraud and abuse, and to meet our legal obligations.
Each year Lion’s Roar reports to the Internal Revenue Service the information about its subordinate organizations that the group exemption requires.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Only authorized Lion’s Roar staff and review board members can see applications, documents and financial statements. Documents are kept in private storage and every staff view is recorded.
We rely on service providers that process information only on our behalf: Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting and file storage), PlanetScale (database) and Resend (email delivery).
Public verification
Donors, banks and others can confirm on our Verify page that an organization is a subordinate member, by entering its FEIN, member number or a letter code. The page shows only the organization’s legal name, city, state and country, its affiliation type, its member-since date and whether it is in good standing — and, for a letter code, the letter’s kind, date and validity. It never shows contact details, and it never reveals a FEIN to someone who did not enter it.
How long we keep it
We keep the records of member organizations while they are affiliated and afterwards as long as our obligations to the IRS and our accounting require. Documents of applications that were not approved, or were withdrawn, are deleted one year after the decision.
Security
Information travels over encrypted connections, documents are never published at public addresses, and staff accounts are protected with two-factor authentication.
Your choices
You can review and update your profile from your account and report changes to your organization there. To request a copy of your information, a correction or its deletion, write to info@lionsroarinternational.com. Some records must be kept for legal or accounting reasons.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure. We do not use advertising cookies.
